When you receive your new Smart Tag in the post, set up your account here and activate the tag by entering the unique code on the front of the tag.
You can include multiple contact methods, dietary and behavioural information, vet, microchip and insurance details and more.
The Smart Tag comes with a strong steel split ring for security.
As long as the owner of the device gives permission by allowing location services*, and signal is available, you will receive the GPS location of where the tag was accessed.
*If location services is not active, the location sharing is dictated by the internet service provider and where they are registered, as well as where the exchange is. Exchange location is based on demand in the area. The closest exchange determines the location shown at this link.
They will now be able to use this information to contact you and look after your pet's individual needs in the meantime!
Benefits of a smart tag
On an engraved tag, there is a limit to the amount of information that can be included. You are legally required to include the owner's name and address on ID worn by your dog, and you should also include a phone number. These details can be engraved on the back of the Smart Tag. However, what if you want to provide more information, especially if you are travelling, or if your pet has medical or dietary requirements that might be helpful if they are lost? You may also want to provide multiple phone numbers, vet and insurance details.
With a Smart Tag, you can provide as much detail as you like to help someone get in touch with you and keep your pet as healthy, comfortable and safe until you are reunited.
